Love Love Love

You will not normally see me blog about a movie review, and rarely about a romantic comedy because I just don't normally like them. But this weekend James and I needed a nice light movie to kill some time on Saturday afternoon, and we went to see "Valentine's Day" with Ashton and Julia and Jennifer and so so many others. I have to say, we both laughed a LOT, and cried just a little. This movie was so sweet and so funny and clever, and so well done. The list of stars was a mile long, but somehow everything just meshed together perfectly and all the pieces came together by the end. I normally like movies where things blow up and people get shot, but this little gem was just what we needed at the moment and I just had to share it with everyone else. If you love Love, go see this movie!

Our Play Date

The last of the snow photos I promise. Saturday afternoon we were finally able to get outside and play for awhile. It was sunny and in the 40's. The snow was already starting to melt when we got out there. We acted like a couple of 12-year-olds- or Southerners who don't get to see snow very often. We made snow angels, built a snowman, and threw snowballs. Although our kitties stayed inside where it was warm, neighbor kitty (and notorious rabbit-killer) Olivia came and played with us. Although we're supposed to get snow Monday morning during rush hour, it is supposed to be a nasty icy mix instead of the pretty fluffy stuff. If we had to be stuck at home on a beautiful winter day, at least we were able to make the best of it and have a lot of fun!

The Morning After

Pictures from the morning after our big snow. I took these all from the safety of the house (good thing my windows are relatively clean). No getting out on the roads today, not even our papers were delivered this morning. We are enjoying our coffee and fuzzy slippers, but soon we're going to bundle up and head out there. James is threatening to teach me how to build a snowman. If we do, I'll take more photos.

These are for my dad to enjoy, as my parents and their friends are leaving the sunny shores of Florida tomorrow and heading this direction for a week of relaxing. He said he is hoping for snow. I'm not sure where they're going, but if it's anywhere up this way, I think they will get it. We are supposed to get more starting on Sunday afternoon and lasting until Monday morning. That will suck, for those of us heading off to work, and for our company trucks out trying to make deliveries (to customers who will ultimately be closed once they arrive).

I know the folks up North are used to this, but for down here in the South, it's a once a year occurrence and it just mucks everything up. But.......it sure is pretty twinkling in the sunlight.

Winter In The South

I WON'T TRY TO PUT CAPTIONS FOR EACH OF THESE PHOTOS, I'M SURE YOU CAN GET THE POINT. THIS IS WHAT I DROVE HOME IN TODAY, WHAT A WAY TO END THE WORK WEEK. I KNOW THE FOLKS UP NORTH WILL LAUGH AT US DOWN HERE, BUT THIS IS A LOT OF SNOW FOR SOUTH OF ATLANTA. AND WE HAVE MORE ON THE WAY SUNDAY AND MONDAY. IT'S ABOUT 30 NOW, BUT WILL BE DOWN TO 20 TONIGHT.

WE WENT FROM NOTHING TO THIS IN ABOUT FOUR HOURS. UNFORTUNATELY MY HUBBY STILL ISN'T HOME YET, HE WILL BE AT WORK FOR QUITE SOME TIME THIS EVENING, UNTIL ALL HIS DRIVERS ARE BACK SAFE AND SOUND AT THE WAREHOUSE. I LET THE CATS OUT AND THEY DIDN'T QUITE KNOW WHAT TO MAKE OF IT. THEY ACTUALLY STAYED OUT FOR LONGER THAN I EXPECTED, AND I HAD TO LURE THEM BACK INSIDE BY SHAKING THE TREAT CAN.

I TOOK THESE PHOTOS ABOUT AN HOUR AGO, AND IT IS STILL SNOWING HARD OUT THERE. THESE PHOTOS DON'T DO IT JUSTICE AT ALL. I WISH I COULD SAY I WAS GOING TO HUNKER DOWN AND STAY WARM INSIDE FOR THE WEEKEND, BUT ALAS I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT TOMORROW MORNING THAT WILL SEE ME BACK OUT ON THESE ROADS. YUCK. I AM NOT LOOKING FORWARD TO THAT AT ALL!

ENJOY THE PHOTOS!
